Nope
Okay, let's try this again. Here we go, engie avatar for all to use.

Also the first time I actually put together a photoshop grayscale thingy, not the worst thing to exist.

Softly spoken words, from softly spoken lips,
glistening with the honeydew of misty breath.
Softly fallen snow, matching snowy fair skin,
soft and smooth as silk.

Auburn leaves falling, from beautiful dark hair,
twirling in the air as the winds of Autumn blow.
Quiet rain patters, as footsteps softly pitter,
across the wooden floor.

For to compare thee to anything else,
but the four seasons above,
is nothing but the highest disservice,
to the beautiful girl I love.

Dedicated to Madeline Zufelt.
Softly
Wrote this earlier today. Thought you might want to read it.

Contrary to what major news outlets may be telling you, I am without a doubt not dead or dying.

So, I suppose that I will probably start actually doing artsy shit again, seeing as school is certainly in my favour in terms of difficulty this term in particular. No real hard classes to be seen, with a lovely large break in the middle of my day for either work or other shit.

Speaking of work, I'm now working at the Liberty Center One tech/data center near my home. Good work, pays nice. I get to have some hands-on work experience with service providers and servers in general. Getting to see the backbone that is our internet on a small scale is both interesting and absolutely terrifying. Holy hell, this shit is so goddamn patchwork most people would not believe the amount of upkeep that goes into updating legacy systems (like the internet) without having a single second of down time. Man alive, that shit is hard.

Also also, if you follow my soundcloud, you may have noticed that I suddenly awoke like some great musical beast, and by that most of my recent music could be considered synonymous with the deep growling of a bear. Take your pick on interpretation, but if you like jazz and or funk, or even just want some nice relaxing ambient music with rain sounds to boot, head over to my soundcloud or my bandcamp. You can just google me and they'll show up pretty high.

I've started taking to watercolours again, as you may have noticed. I wanted to actually do some physical art, seeing as I'm not terribly good at much other than things like graphite sketches and shit like that. But, my brief foray into watercolours has so far yielded relatively positive results. People seem to like it, and I must admit that I find it rather pretty.

If any of you play TF2, hit me up. Apart from Kameron, I don't really have a buddy to play TF2 with, and although battle-medic chain combos are incredibly fun, only two people is never fun. Especially with auto-balance. So just lemme know, and we can start hitting up servers as an unstoppable force of pub-stomp.

I think that about wraps up all important things from my end. Apart from that, I've completely upgraded my computer, keeping only a single harddrive from the last computer. I've turned my original rig into a dedicated server, and that seems to be running very well. Well, as well as it can what with the sporadic power outages and me being to lazy to setup/test Wake on Lan (WoL).

So, if you need anything, you all know how to get a hold of me. I hope to be back to posting shit every week or so. It's always fun to do that.

Love, Dylan.
I sit a while and stare,
a blank palette of colour confronts
my ever staring gaze.

These walls, they are as empty
as my mind appears to be.
A landscape of fog and shadows
as far as I can see.

I sat a moment staring,
at nothing in particular
with one single exception.

Behold, upon these barren walls
there lay a plain-faced clock.
Whose gears through some miracle turned,
and whose workings “ticked” and “tocked.”

I felt my gaze a’wander,
as this shape drew my eye abruptly
to confront the unavoidable.

For though I thought this wall empty,
it now was plain to see.
That long had I been incorrect,
and now the truth is free.

The walls had never been empty
I realized in shock.
For lost to my tired, weary eyes
was the faces of the clock.

Hundreds, maybe thousands,
ticking in cacophony,
ticking in symphony
to each other.

I soon began to wonder
just how much time I’d lost.
And came to the conclusion,
that knowledge has a cost.

For though the clock did “tick” and “tock”
and all those that clocks do.
The time piece never moved an inch,
and time itself, was through.

I cannot know, if time exists,
I’m simply staring,
waiting,
watching the wall,
the empty wall,
a blank palette of colour.
A fog.
Clocks on the Wall
I really don't know what I was trying to achieve here, but I suppose that it's on the internet now.

I just wanted to write something, didn't really have a good concrete idea for this one.

I have been looking at this description, and decidedly it no longer fit the description of my current frame of mind.

SO, allow me to begin with a simple statement.
Lovely weather we're having, isn't it?

Now that we are acquainted, let us begin describing the wonderful life of Dylan Packard.
I am an artist, and more than just a visual artist. I actually am a trained musician, practicing the clarinet professionally and playing the piano in my spare time. I also compose music on the scale of full orchestras, mainly symphonies and the like. I also compose for smaller ensembles on occasion, such as piano solos and clarinet solos and such.
I also draw, as you will find on this website. Mainly I deal in architectural designs, such as my Art Deco sketches.
I am an engineer by trade as well, dealing in Nuclear Engineering. I plan to study both clarinet performance and nuclear at the University of Michigan.

I am a computer programmer, and a diligent man of technology. I run several game servers, alternating between them as my crowd wants them. At the moment, we are hosting a server which runs a map being designed after the style of 1930's New York and that sort of thing. Keep an eye on that.

I am finally a writer. I dabble in the art of words, writing the occasional story here and there. I am currently working on a piece for the NoSleep subreddit.

Have a pleasant day! Thank you very much for your interest.
